Herbert Moorman's Obituary
Herbert G. Moorman, 49, of Centerville passed away Saturday, August 31, 2013 at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics. Herbert was born on December 16, 1963 in Gardner, KS to Eugene & Barbara (Vestal) Moorman. Herbert worked in the Heating & Cooling business installing and repairing boilers for Rasmussen Heating & Cooling in Council Bluffs, Iowa. In Centerville he worked for Moorman Custom Cabinets. Herbert was a jack of all trades who could fix anything. He was also a people person. Herbert never met a stranger and was accused of being quite the talker. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and time with his friends and family. On Sunday afternoons he enjoyed cooking a spread of food to watch football or NASCAR. Herbert is survived by his father Eugene Moorman of Allerton, a longtime friend, Janet of Centerville, three children: Steven (Holly) Banks of Oskaloosa, Echo Moorman of Washington State, Zach (Lauren) Moorman of Washington State, two grandchildren: Connor Winfrey of Washington State, Caroline Moorman of Washington State, three siblings: Ronald L. Moorman of Allerton, Debra Haines (Ken Richards) of Moravia, Terry R. Moorman of Des Moines, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Herbert was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Moorman, two grandchildren, Christopher & Zakk Bankes, two brothers: Rudolph & Kenneth Moorman, grandparents and his Dude Buddies Joseph & Nicholas. A Celebration of Life Service will be 7:00 p.m., Friday, September 6, 2013 at Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Tony Angran officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour prior from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to the family and condolences may be shared at www.thomasfh.com.
