Henry DeWitt Pearson's Obituary
Henry Dewitt Pearson, 84, Centerville died early Thursday a.m. December 18, 2003 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville.
He was born Jan. 22, 1919 in Seymour, Iowa the son of E.A. and Luella (Armintrout) Pearson. He married Vera Maxine Parks on September 12, 1942 in Unionville, Mo. She preceded him in death in 1985. In this union two children were born, Jane Ann & Allan Pearson
He was inducted into the Army during W.W.II September 15, 1942 and was discharged in Feb. 1946. He was a member of the Seymour American Legion for over 50 years. For 70 years he lived in the Seymour area. He married Marjorie Oden in Exline, Iowa on 1990 and she preceded him in death in 1995. At an early age he joined the Methodist Church and was a member of the Seymour Methodist Church. In later years he attended the Exline Christian Church Exline, Iowa. Mr. Pearson sold for Pioneer Seed Company 36 years.
He is survived by one daughter, Jane Ann Rexroat and one son Allan Pearson, three grandchildren Dawn Rayl, Donnie & Randy Rexroat; eight great grandchildren, Krisha, DeShann, Brandi, Ryan and Seth Rexroat, Melanie Hermon and Wyatt Rayl; One sister-in-law Joy and Johnny Golden; Three step-sons Ken Hunt and his wife Melodee, Malcolm Oden and his wife Susan, Doyle Oden and his wife Jeannie; One step-daughter Judy and Stanley Posovich eleven step-grandchildren, fifteen step-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four sisters Theo Gothridge, Pauline Pearson, Loraine Hellyer & Eunice Pearson; two brothers, Harold and Berlin; one granddaughter Kimberley Rexroat; one great granddaughter, Samantha Rexroat,
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 20, 2003, 10 a.m. at Thomas Lange Funeral Home with Pastor Donald Hunt officiating. Visitation will be all day Friday at Thomas Lange Funeral Home with the family present from 6-8 p.m.. A memorial has been established to Seymour American Legion and may be left at or mailed to Thomas Lange Funeral Home 1900 S. 18th St. Centerville, Iowa 52544.
