Helen Wyatt's Obituary
Helen Wyatt, age 97, of Corydon passed away on September 6, 2019 at Corydon Specialty Care. Helen Louise Everman was born on August 27, 1922 in Corydon, Iowa to Frank and Donna (Hilliard) Everman. Helen was united in marriage to H.J. Stills on May 19, 1940 and to this union three children were born: Joan, Jerry and James. Helen and H.J. divorced in 1959. She later married Carl Wyatt and welcomed her step son Dick Wyatt and his family as her own. She worked as a cook and also as a factory worker. Helen wall papered and painted for many people. She always took care of a large garden and spent lots of time canning. Helen taught her girls how to work and expected them to help out with household chores, which they did. For the last ten years Helen has resided at the Corydon Specialty Care center where she received excellent care. We would like to thank the staff for being so kind to mom over the years. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband H.J. Stills, second husband Carl Wyatt, infant son James Stills, grandson Kenny Castor, and sisters: Fern Richardson (John), Mardell Blaine (Ted), Wanda McDowell (Judd), brothers Gerald Everman (Alta) and Jack Everman (Darlene). Survivors include her daughters: Joan Langloss, Jerry Castor (Nile),step son Dick Wyatt, grandchildren: Danette Dollison (Gary), Shane Langloss (Robin), Shelly Hitt (Jamie), Rob Langloss (Jeff Frye), Denise Goben (Doug), Carmen Spidle, and Nicole Raasch (Sean), step grandchildren: Mike Wyatt, David Wyatt and Lisa Wyatt, several great grandchildren, several great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside service will be Monday, September 9, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. at Corydon Cemetery with Pastor Leroy Perkins officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service on Monday from 1-2 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home in Corydon. Memorials may be given to Wayne Theater, Prairie Trails Museum or Care Initiatives Hospice.
