Helen L. Wahl, 87, of Centerville, Iowa passed away March 26, 2015, at the Carlisle Care Center in Carlisle, Iowa. Helen was born December 19, 1927 in Mystic, Iowa, the daughter of Harold and Louisa (Howell) Turner. She graduated from Moravia High School.On September 4, 1948, Helen was united in marriage to Rex Wahl in New Hampton, Iowa. She was employed many years at McGraw Edison and then later retired from Viscase/Curwood. After retirement she enjoyed traveling with her friends and musical entertainment. She was a member of the Mystic Highland Cemetery Association, Hospital Auxiliary, Mystic Veterans Auxiliary, 18-80 Club, and the Mystic Christian Church. She will be remembered for her friendly and caring demeanor. Helen's focus in life was doing for others. She enjoyed her time with family and friends and cooking. Everyone enjoyed her wonderful pies. Her loving memory will be cherished by her children: Rita (David) Prock, Pleasant Hill, Iowa, Vickie (Joe) Seddon, Long Grove, Iowa, and Flint (Carla) Wahl, Centerville; seven grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two grandchildren, and brothers George and Max Turner.Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Rev. Michael Mc Kissick officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Cemetery in Mystic. Visitation will be held from 9 am till time of service at the funeral home.Memorials can be made to Highland Cemetery Association, Plano Christian Church, 18-80 Club, Mystic Community Center, or Hospital Auxiliary and left or mailed to the funeral home.
