Helen JoAnn Turner's Obituary
Helen JoAnn Turner, age 74, of Moravia, Iowa died Monday, April 16, 2012 at Mercy Hospice-Johnston in Johnston, Iowa.
JoAnn was born April 3, 1938 at Melrose, Iowa the daughter of Elbert and Vera (Callen) Moore. She graduated from Moravia High School. JoAnn was united in marriage to Charles Turner March 23, 1958 at Moravia, Iowa. She was employed as a cashier and guest services at Lakeside Casino. JoAnn loved her grandchildren; she especially enjoyed the holidays and cooking for everyone. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church, Moravia.
She is survived by her husband Charles of Moravia. Also surviving are daughters Myra (Jerome) James of Johnston, Iowa and Pam (Steve) Palm of Grimes, Iowa; three grandchildren, Noah James, and Preston and Ryley Palm; two brothers DeWayne Moore of Melrose and Virgil W. (Bill) Moore of Melrose.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Mildred Hiner.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM, Friday, April 20, 2012 at the Moravia Church of the Nazarene with Pastors Terry Chapman and Cindy Finn officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery just south of Moravia. Visitation will be held Thursday at Lange Funeral Home in Moravia from 1-8 PM, with the family present from 5-8 PM. Memorials have been established to either the Grace United Methodist Church in Moravia or Mercy Hospice-Johnston and may be given to Lange Funeral Home, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544.
