HELEN LOUISE ROCKHOLD Helen Louise Rockhold, 77, passed away on March 24, 2013 at the Friendswood Health Care Center in Friendswood, Texas. She was born June 17, 1935 in Allerton, Iowa to Rodney William and Wilma Nadene Cobb. Helen was born and raised in Wayne County and attended school in Sewal, Iowa, where she graduated in 1952. She met Robert Maurice Elder while attending high school and in 1952 he was drafted into the Army. Upon his return from the service, they were married on August 19, 1953 and moved to a farm north of Clio. To this union three daughters were born: Doris, Donna and Louise. Following graduation and while Maurice was away in the service, Helen worked for the telephone company in Corydon. While her daughters were growing up, Helen was a stay at home Mom caring for them and helping Maurice on their farm. In later years, she worked for the Corydon Veterinary Clinic and the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Home in Lineville. On December 30, 1982 she married Richard Albert Toliver. She and Richard lived on his farm east of Clio until his death in 1991. When they weren't busy with the farm, Helen and Richard enjoyed spending time at their lakeside home near Kimberly City, Missouri and traveling. On August 8, 1992, she married Kenneth Dean Rockhold. She and Kenny lived at his home and later in the Lineville funeral home, where they worked together until his death in 2004. Helen and Kenny shared a love for being active in their church, gardening and quilting. In December 2005, Helen moved to Pearland, Texas to live with her daughter and son-in-law, where she lived until her death. Helen was an active member of the Clio and Lineville Methodist Churches as well as several quilt guilds in the Wayne and Lucas County area. She very much loved sewing, quilting, beading and scrap booking as well as teaching others her many creative talents. Helen is survived by her three daughters: Doris Terrell and Ron Long of Pearland, Texas, Donna Keller and David Hines of Seymour, Iowa and Louise Elder of Denver, Colorado; two granddaughters: Bridget Klesel and Bryan of Magnolia, Texas and Tiffany Allen and Martez Crawford of Des Moines, Iowa; and three great-grandchildren: Samuel Klesel, Addison Klesel and Harlowe Crawford.
