Helen O'Conner's Obituary
Helen O'Conner, 95, of Centerville passed away Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Helen was born to Lloyd & Grace (Felkner) Sears in Centerville on April 19, 1921. She received her education from Centerville Schools, graduating in 1940. On June 23, 1940, Helen was united in marriage to Kenneth O'Conner in Centerville. Helen was an active member of First Baptist Church for many years until her health started failing her. She enjoyed visiting with her church friends and spending time with her family. Survivors include two children: Gary O'Conner (Judy) of Bandera, TX, Sharon Tice (Ed) of Centerville, nine grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 12 great great grandchildren, sister, Margaret Carlson of Rockford, Illinois and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth, parents, granddaughters: Kimberly O'Conner, Serena Shepard, great grandson, Skye O'Conner, sisters, Betty Breckenridge, Katie Aussie, brothers; Neil Sears and Bud "Harry" Sears Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at First Baptist Church in Centerville with Rev. Lloyd Johnston officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at Thomas Funeral Home with the family present from 6-8 p.m. Memorials may be given to First Baptist Church and condolences may be shared at www.thomasfh.com.
