Helen Cicco's Obituary
Helen Virginia Cicco, age 93 of Centerville, Iowa passed away Thursday, November 28, 2013 at Golden Age Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center in Centerville.
She was born in Brazil, Iowa on December 15, 1919 to Ralph and Josephine (Jackovac) Radosevich. Helen attended Elm Grove grade school and graduated from Centerville High School. After graduation she worked at Swift & Company for a short period of time. Helen also helped her husband with bookkeeping at the Station. Later, she helped her son Joe with bookkeeping in the family business, Cicco Construction.
Helen married Nicklos Cicco on September 6, 1941 in Centerville and to this union, a son was born, Joseph Ralph Cicco. With the birth of their son, Nicklos and Helen's lives were complete. Joe was truly the love of their life.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Centerville, as well as the Croatian Fraternal Union. Helen loved her home, her flowers and gardening. She also enjoyed cooking in the kitchen. She loved her family and friends who gave of their time and kindness to her. Helen was dearly loved by many.
Those left to honor her memory include her granddaughter Stephanie (Cicco) and husband David McCann of Centerville; two grandsons, Nick and Trent McCann of Centerville; Norma Cicco of Centerville; sister-in-laws Stella Badpist of Silvis, Illinois and Phyllis (Harry) Clayworth of Moravia, Iowa; forty one nieces; twenty eight nephews; and a host of friends.
Helen was preceded in death by her loving husband Nicklos Cicco; her son Joseph R. Cicco; parents Ralph and Josephine Radosevich; sisters Charlotte Radosevich and Mary Pride; brothers Lubo, Charles (wife, Adelma), and Steve Radosevich; brother-in-law Joseph A. Cicco; sister-in-laws Mary (Cicco) Claybaugh, Irene (Cicco) Faoro, Jennie (Cicco) Sullivan and Josephine (Cicco) Stewart.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, December 5, 2013 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Centerville with Father Bill Hubmann officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery, Centerville. A visitation will be held all day Wednesday at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville with the family present from 6-8 PM. A Rosary will take place at 7:45 PM. Memorial contributions have been established to St. Mary's Catholic Church and may be given to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544.
