Helen L. Burton's Obituary
Helen Lou Burton age 81, died Monday, October 26, 2009 at the Golden Age Care Center in Centerville, Iowa. She was born the daughter of Elvin and Minnie (Irelan) Stocker on August 14, 1928 near Moravia, Iowa. She graduated from the Moravia High School in 1945.On February 20, 1970 she was united in marriage to Harold Burton in Moravia, Iowa. She worked for Johnson Beauty and Barber Supply and Spencer's Grocery Store in Moravia, and was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Moravia, Iowa.Helen was preceded in death by; her father, husband; Harold Burton in 1991, brother; Bobby Stocker on August 20, 2009.She is survived by; mother, Minnie Stocker, step daughter; Diana and her husband, Bill DuVall of Newton, Iowa, sister; Shirley and her husband Bill Sherwood of Milo, Iowa, nephew; Mark and his wife, Jayne Sherwood of Milo, Iowa, niece; Kristin and her husband, Tim Toombs of Indianola, Iowa, four step grandchildren, six step great grandchildren, and six great nieces and nephews.Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Rev. Joe Hayes officiating. Burial will follow at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Moravia, Iowa. Public visitation will be held Tuesday, October 27, 2009 from 2:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. with the family present one hour prior to service on Wednesday at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa.Memorial has been set for the Cancer Society and can me mailed to or left at the funeral home.
