Helen Bubenyak's Obituary
Helen E. Bubenyak, age 87, died April 15, 2007 at her home in Centerville, Iowa.
Helen was born February 8, 1920, the daughter of Andrew Frank and Mary Katherine (Buban) Kauzlarich in Cincinnati, Iowa. Helen attended and graduated from Cincinnati High School. She married Frank Bubenyak on September 13, 1947, at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Centerville. He preceded her in death on July 11, 1998. She was a licensed LPN Nurse and received her license on November 4, 1949 and worked for the St. Joseph's Mercy Hospital. She enjoyed watching basketball, cooking, gardening and canning. She loved polka music and was very active in the Croation Fest. She did volunteer work and was in the St. Mary's Catholic Church Choir. She was a member of the Croation Federation, 18-80 Club and the St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Helen is survived by nieces and nephews, Mary Ann Bond of Centerville, IA, Nancy Barbaglia-Markowitz of Mentor Headlands, Ohio, Joe Barbaglia of Ames, Iowa, Jean Barbaglia-Wenisch of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Sharon Kauzlarich of Lee Summitt, Missouri, Shelly Kauzlarich of Des Moines, Iowa, Tom Bubenyak of Comanche, Iowa, Jerry Bubenyak of Centerville, Iowa, and Karen Moore of Ottumwa, Iowa; great nieces and nephews, Brian Bond of Bondurant, Iowa, Carrie Bond of Oskaloosa, Iowa, Bradley Bond of Ames, Iowa, Leslie Markowitz of Dayton, Ohio, Jeremy Markowitz of University Heights, Ohio, Michael Barbaglia of Ames, Iowa, Kathryn Barbaglia of Ames, Iowa, Claire Wenisch of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Grace Wenisch of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and many other great and great-great nieces and nephews; a sister, Ann Barbaglia of Centerville, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Carmilla Kauzlarich-Gill and husband Duane of Powersville, Missouri. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Andrew Kauzlarich; and two nieces, Maria Santa Dasho and Ann Richmond.
Mass of Resurrection will be held 11:30 AM, Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church with Fr. Ron Will C. PP.S officiating. A prayer service will be held at 5 PM Tuesday evening at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home with visitation following until 7 PM. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery. A memorial has been established to the St. Mary's Catholic Church and may be left at or mailed to the Thomas Lange Funeral Home, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, IA 52544.
