Helen Lucille Bird's Obituary
Helen Lucille Bird passed away, Friday, September 2, 2022 at Golden Age Care Center in Centerville.
Lucille was born to Lloyd & Velta (Ransom) Davis on July 6, 1934 in Centerville, Iowa. She received her education from Centerville Schools, graduating in 1952. She was united in marriage to Hughie Wood. He would later pass away in 1968. She was again united in marriage to Frank Bird who preceded her in 2016.
Lucille was a homemaker all of her life. She did work for a time at the City Book Store in Centerville, Elmer Wood Company and finished her career at Moulton Development. Lucille enjoyed collecting stuffed bears and doing picture puzzles. Of all things she enjoyed, family was her favorite.
Survivors include her children: Ronnie Wood (Debbie), Tim Wood (Julie), Carolyn Daniels, Kenny Wood (Theo), Marilyn Wood, 10 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and numerous extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, children: Kathy Browns, Steve Wood, husbands, Hughie Wood in 1968, Frank Bird in 2016, siblings: Doris Wilson, Donald Davis, Roland Davis, Max Davis, Leland Davis, Lois Fox, Leora Whisler, Vera White and Eileen Fowler, son-in-law, Greg Daniels.
Graveside service will be 10:00 am, Tuesday, September 6, 2022 with Pastor Brian Hargrave officiating at Sunset View Cemetery near Moulton. Memorials may be given to EveryStep Hospice and condolences may be shared at www.thomasfh.com or facebook.com/thomasfuneralhome.
