Hazel Irene Rummans' Obituary
Hazel Irene Rummans, age 86 of Cincinnati, Iowa passed away Monday, July 04, 2016 at her home.
Hazel was born on October 14, 1929, in Pacific Junction, Iowa, the daughter of Lloyd Leeper and Alice Fitzpatrick. As a child, she attended Country School in Messina, Iowa. She later attended Bondurant schools and graduated with the Class of 1948. Hazel married Paul Clifford Rummans on July 29, 1948 in Bondurant, Iowa.
Hazel and Paul spent most of their lives living in Bondurant. She worked in the office at Farmcraft Feed Company in Des Moines for many years. Approximately ten years ago, the couple relocated to Cincinnati, Iowa. Paul and Hazel were avid campers. They enjoyed camping throughout the United States. Hazel also loved making quilts for family members on numerous occasions.
Hazel is survived by her three children, Dave Gene (Joanne) Rummans of Cincinnati, Iowa, Russell Ray (Ellie) Rummans of Cincinnati, Iowa, and Peggy Sue Kent of West Des Moines, Iowa; A sister, Marge Darrow of State Center, Iowa; 21 Grandchildren; numerous Great Grandchildren; and several Great, Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Clifford Rummans; her parents, Lloyd and Alice; a son, Steve Rummans; two brothers, Harold and Jerry Leeper; and a grandson, Scott Rummans.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, July 8, 2016 at Mitchellville Franklin Township Cemetery in Mitchellville, Iowa with Pastor Dave Rummans officiating. A visitation will be held Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Lange Funeral Home in Centerville, with the family greeting friends from 6-8PM. A memorial has been established to the family of Hazel Irene Rummans and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa 52544.
