Hazel Anne Kruzich's Obituary
Hazel Anne (Ferren) Kruzich, age 78, of Altoona, Iowa formerly of Seymour, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at the Taylor Hospice House in Des Moines, Iowa.
Anne was born in the little village of Brush College in Appanoose County, Iowa on June 11, 1939 to James Calvin and Doris (Monteith) Ferren.Anne lived her preschool years with her grandparents James and Sylvia Allison Monteith. She attended Genoa Country School before moving to Seymour and graduating from Seymour High School in 1957.
Anne was active in the Seymour Christian Church and CYF. In 1958, Anne was baptized in the Roman Catholic Religion at St. Ambrose Cathedral in Des Moines, Iowa. On November 1, 1958, Anne was united in marriage to George Kruzich at St. Francis Catholic Church in Mystic, Iowa. From this union, four children were born, Mark David, Diana Jean, Susan Anne, and Matthew John.
Together, Anne and George raised their family in Seymour, Iowa. She loved her children and grandchildren with all of her heart. She was very proud of her family. She also ran a daycare in Seymour for several years, and enjoyed following the lives of those children as well. Annes indomitable spirit will encourage her family and friends to persevere in the face of many struggles.
Anne is survived by her children, Mark (Jolynn) Kruzich of Centerville, Diana (David) Neubauer of Ogden, Iowa, Susan (Allen) Ruhnke of West Des Moines and Matt (Ann) Kruzich of Centerville; her companion, Bob Morrison of Altoona and his children, Lynn (Brian) Stough, Mike (Pam) Morrison, and Lori Morrison; eight grandchildren, Joe (Rachel) Kruzich, Shannon (Mike) Peter, Nick (Kate) Kruzich, Kenzie Kruzich, Tucker Bratz, Maddison (Andrew) Bratz-Stubblefield, John Duley and Morgan Duley; one great grandchild, Brianna Popejoy; three siblings, Sharon (Tony) Romeo of Des Moines, Barbara Gardner of Centerville, and Shirley John of Jacksonville, North Carolina; two brothers-in-law, John (Barbara) Kruzich and Mark (Carolyn) Kruzich both of Bloomfield; and one sister-in-law, Judy Kruzich of Barryville, Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Kruzich; her parents, James and Doris Ferren; three siblings, David Ferren, Phillip Ferren, and Jim Ferren; a sister-in-law, Nancy Ferren; a brother-in-law, Milton (Mick) Kruzich; a niece, Terri Whicker; a nephew, Charles Ferren; and a great-nephew, Joey Kaiser.
Per Annes wishes, cremation has been accorded. There are no scheduled services at this time. A private graveside service will be held at a later date at Crossroads Cemetery. Lange Funeral Home and Crematory has been entrusted with caring for the Kruzich family.
