Harold Gene Heartley's Obituary
Harold 'Gene' Heartley, age 58, of Moulton, Iowa, died Monday, April 4, 2016 at his home near Moulton. He was born the son of Harold and Lois (Houston) Heartley on March 10, 1958 in Centerville, Iowa. He received his education in Moravia High School. On June 21, 1980, Gene was united in marriage to Vickie Murray in Corydon, Iowa. He worked alongside his father in the Timber business, he owned Heartley Tree Care Service with his brother, Rick, and would later join Tom's Tree Service. He was also a mechanic and loved working on vehicles and helping people in his hometown. He was preceded in death by: his father, Harold Heartley; and a son, Joseph Heartley. Gene is survived by: his wife, Vickie Heartley of Moulton, Iowa; his mother, Lois Heartley of Centerville, Iowa; his children, Jonathan Heartley of Moulton, Iowa; and Jennifer Heartley of Des Moines, Iowa; grandson, Nicholas Heartley of Moulton, Iowa; brothers, Rick and Steve Heartley of Centerville, Iowa; and sisters, Kathy Davenport and Rebecca Babb both of Centerville, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 10 am, Friday, April 8, 2016 at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Rev. Mark Walsh officiating. Burial will follow in the Hardin Cemetery north of Moulton, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2 pm until 8 pm with the family present 6 pm until 8 pm.
