Harold 'Gene' Fowler, age 75, of Centerville, Iowa, died Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at Centerville Nursing & Rehab Center in Centerville. He was born the son of Harold W. and Margaret (Matheson) Fowler on May 28, 1937 in Centerville, Iowa. He graduated from the Centerville High School.Gene was united in marriage to Marie Wilson, they were later divorced. He worked for at short time while living in Des Moines, Iowa, however at the age of 25, he was in an accident the left him disabled.He is preceded in death by: his parents; a son, Patrick Fowler; and a sister, Elaine Fowler.Gene is survived by: His sons, Michael and John Fowler, both living on the East Coast; sister, Joan Wagner-Roby and her husband, John of Mystic, Iowa; and a brother, Jerry Fowler and his wife, Kathy of Oskaloosa, Iowa.Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 am on Friday, May 10, 2013 at the Oakland Cemetery in Centerville, Iowa with Tim Dawson officiating. Burial to follow. Visitation will be held from 9 am until the time of services at the Cemetery at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville.
