H. Edward Lamb's Obituary
H. Edward Lamb, age 87, of Moulton, Iowa, died Wednesday, September 19, 2012, at Sunnyview Care Center in Ankeny, Iowa. He was born the son of Hollan Leslie and Vineta Vera (McDade) Lamb on December 25, 1924 near West Grove, Iowa in Davis County. He received his education in West Grove and Bloomfield, Iowa.On August 8, 1944, Ed was united in marriage to Ila Dene Kirby in Centerville, Iowa. He worked for John Deere in Waterloo, Ottumwa and Bloomfield, Iowa and was also a farmer for many years northeast of Moulton, Iowa. Ed drove a school bus for the Moulton Community School District for many years as well.He loved to pass the time by either going fishing or playing his favorite card game 'Pitch' and watching western movies. He was preceded in death by: his parents; sisters, Larue Sammons, Betty Lou Archer and Kathleen Robins.Ed is survived by: his wife, Ila Lamb of Moulton, Iowa; sons, Kyle Lamb and his wife, Karen of Moulton, Iowa, Everett Lamb and his wife, Dianna of Davenport, Iowa and Jackie Lamb and his wife, Rebecca of Rockford, Illinois; a daughter, Vineta Maxine Stewart and her husband, Charles of Moulton, Iowa; sixteen grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 2 pm at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Moulton, Iowa with Rev. Dennis Doud officiating. Burial will follow at the Sunset View Cemetery north of Moulton, Iowa. Visitation will be held 1 hour before services at the funeral home with the family present.Memorials can be made to the Moulton First Responders and left or mailed to the funeral home.
