Gordon Henkelvig's Obituary
Gordon Henkelvig, 69, of Allerton passed away, Friday, December 8, 2017 at his home. Gordon was born to Benny & Isabella (Schnetzer) Henkelvig on November 27, 1948 in Emmetsburg, Iowa. He received his education from Mallard High School graduating in 1966. Gordon was a veteran of the United States Army Corps, and served in the Vietnam War. He worked as a farmhand for a time and would also be employed as a heavy equipment operator building roads. Gordon loved the time he spent working as a farmhand. He also enjoyed visiting with his friends from Allerton to Lineville. Survivors include numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and a brother, Grant Henkelvig. Graveside service will be Friday, December 15, 2017 at Clio Cemetery. Military rites by Allerton & Corydon American Legion. Memorials may be made to the Allerton American Legion and online condolences may be shared at www.thomasfh.com.
