Goldie C. Hancox's Obituary
Goldie Cleo Hancox, age 91 of Centerville died Sunday March 18, 2007 at Golden Age Care Center, Centerville.
Goldie was born December 20, 1915 the daughter of Edward and Orpha (Fowler) Collins in Centerville, Iowa. She married Andrew Hancox December 27, 1952 in Chillicothe, Missouri. He preceded her in death in May of 1976. Goldie was a lifelong resident of Centerville. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Goldie is survived by two sons, Mark (Julia) Hancox of Centerville, IA and Terry Hancox of Cleveland Heights; OH, three grandchildren, Scott, Hope and Grant Hancox all of Centerville, IA; and one sister, Dorothy Corrett of Centerville, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Orpha Collins; husband, Andrew; one sister, Mildred McDowell and an infant brother.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 PM Thursday, March 22, 2007 at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home, Centerville with Al Cooper officiating. Burial will follow at the Southlawn Cemetery, Seymour, Iowa. A visitation will be held all day Wednesday with the family present from 6-8 PM. A memorial has been established to the Drake Public Library and may be left at or mailed to the Thomas Lange Funeral Home, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, IA 52544.
