Golda Sleeth's Obituary
Golda O Sleeth, age 94, formerly of Exline, Iowa died Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at Centerville Nursing and Rehab Center in Centerville, Iowa.
Golda was born on November 29th, 1918 to Clarence and Roxie (Shelton) Mathes in Graysville, Missouri. She was joined in marriage to Lewis 'Jack' Sleeth on September 2nd, 1939 in Unionville, Missouri.
She loved to garden and tend her flowers as well as being an avid quilter. She loved to travel but her favorite thing to do was to spend time with her family and loved ones.
Golda is survived by her children Loretta 'Faye' Guffey of Ottumwa, Iowa, Russell Sleeth of Exline, Iowa, Melba 'Kaye' (David) Martin of Griffin, Georgia, Zelta Brinegar of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Linda Morse of Indianola, Iowa, Cindy (John) Brown of Exline; Brothers Dain (Ellie) Mathes of Exline, Don (Shirley) Mathes of Centerville, Herb Mathes of Exline, and sisters Zetta McElderry of Exline, Loeta McElderry of Bettendorf, Iowa; 20 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, 11 great-great grandchildren, several step great and great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband; her parents; grandsons Jack LeRoy Sleeth and Bradley Guffey; granddaughter Michelle Brinegar; great grandsons Zachary Guffey, James Doyle, and Brennan Brown; great granddaughter Leann Sleeth; brothers Edwin Mathes and Novie Dean Mathes; brothers-in-law Darb McElderry & Gene McElderry; daughter-in-law Tyke Sleeth; sons-in-law William 'Skeeter' Guffey & Bob Morse.
Funeral services will be held 11am Monday morning, February 4th, 2013 at Lange Funeral Home Centerville, Iowa with Pastor Gerald Campbell officiating. Visitation is Sunday February 3rd from 12pm - 8pm with the family present from 6-8PM. Burial will be in the Salem Cemetery, South of Exline, Iowa.
