Gloria Wages' Obituary
Gloria Wages, age 63 of Albia, Iowa, formerly of Exline, Iowa, passed away Saturday, May 24, 2014 at her home in Albia, Iowa.
Gloria was born September 20, 1950 in Gary, Indiana, the daughter of Henry Franklin Byrom and Mary Alice Woolsey Byrom. She graduated from the Appanoose County High School in Centerville, Iowa. She was married to Wendell Wages July 15, 1976. At 14 years old she started working at Golden Age Care Center, Centerville. She worked at Young Radiator until 1996 and drove a school bus for the Centerville School district for many years. Gloria loved to crochet, fish and shop for clothes. She had photos all over her house, loved her grandkids and listening to country music. She was a member of the Albia Baptist Temple.
She is survived by two daughters DeEtta (Joe) Yerington of Albia and Dawn Wages of Ottumwa, Iowa; grandchildren Cory (Shelby) Sines of Exline, Iowa, Clayton (Cassie) Yerington of Albia, and Carolann Yerington of Albia, Austin Bakalar, Jasmine Boney, Landon Boney, Mason Tomlin, Alicen Tomlin, Robbie Tomlin; great grandchildren Kennedy Sines; a sister Judy Kaye Byrom of Centerville; Paternal Aunt Lucile of Indiana, maternal Aunt Judith Coffman and Maternal Aunt Wilma Wilson of Centerville.
She was preceded in death by companion Floyd Mathes, her parents, a brother Eddie Guess and a sister Patricia Ann Guess.
Funeral services will be held 3 PM Thursday, May 29, 2014 at Lange Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Brian Harris officiating. Friends may call all day Wednesday with the family present from 6-8 PM at the Lange Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will be in the Exline Cemetery, Exline, Iowa.
