Gloria Dean Thomas' Obituary
Gloria Dean Thomas, age 84 of Centerville, Iowa passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at Centerville Specialty Care.
Gloria was born on November 1, 1932, the daughter of Robert and Thelma (Millinger) Parry. She was united in marriage to Wayne Thomas on July 5, 1963 in Centerville. From this union, nine children were born, Jimmy, Gerald, Patty, David, Roger, Dennis, Sherry, Brenda, and Wayne.
Gloria was a homemaker. She raised her family and in her spare time, she enjoyed playing bingo, and gambling at casinos. She was very fond of flowers, especially roses. Moreover, she loved her family more than anything.
She is survived by her children, Jimmy Thomas of Jefferson City, Missouri, Gerald (Elaine) Thomas of Jefferson City, Missouri, Patty West of Centerville, David Thomas of Centerville, Roger (Amber) Thomas of Numa, Dennis (Connie) Thomas of Sugar Creek, Missouri, Sherry (Brandon) Johnson of Gallatin, Missouri, and Brenda (Frank) Leffler of Chilicothe, Missouri; 22 grandchildren, Jeremy Thomas, Justin Thomas, Melissa Ragan, Michael Thomas, Lora Connelly, Christopher Thomas, Stephanie Henderson, Angela McCarty, Corey Thomas, Skyler Thomas, Garrett Thomas, Faith Thomas,Crystal Crider, Riley Thomas, Matt Wyatt, Heather Admire, Chris Wyatt, Daniel Thomas, Misty Collins, Shelly Needles, Niky West, Austin West, Frankie Leffler, and Sarah Leffler; three sisters, Paulette Salazar, Karen Mallory and Janet Bowen; three brothers, Alfred Parry, Robert Parry, and Paul Billberg; as well as numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Thomas; her parents, Robert and Thelma Parry; her son, Wayne Thomas; a grandson, Andrew Thomas; and a son-in-law, Gerald West.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville with Pastor Gerald Campbell officiating. Interment will follow at the Oakland Cemetery in Centerville. A visitation will take place on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at Lange Funeral Home in Centerville, with the family greeting friends from 6-8 PM.
