Glen Allen Strayer, Sr.'s Obituary
Glen Allen Strayer, Sr. [65], of Moravia, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly after a fall at his home on Monday December 2, 2024.
Glen was born on July 3, 1959 to Miley Allen Strayer Sr. and Mary "June" Vanda in Iowa City, Iowa. Glen graduated from Ottumwa High School in 1978.
Glen married Becky Durflinger in 1980, and to that union was born, Heather Lynn and Glen Allen Jr. They later divorced.Glen worked the last several years at BK Boathouse and was regarded by many as a friend. Thank you to the owners for being an amazing friend to my brother.
Glen was preceded in death by his parents and brother, John. He is survived by his daughter, Heather (Jeremy) Hull of Ottumwa; his son, Glen Jr. of Minnesota; two granddaughters, Amber and Kelsey Hull; 4 brothers, Miley of Oklahoma, Vern (Carla) of Stoddard, Wisconsin, Donald of Bloomfield, Iowa, and Raymond of Rock Island, Illinois; 2 sisters, Barbara Strayer of Ottumwa, Iowa and Carol Strayer of Des Moines, Iowa; nephews, Brandon and Christoper (Danielle) Jones; and Great nephews, Preston and Blane Jones; as well as several additional nieces, nephews and extended family.
Per wishes, cremation has been accorded. Services will be held at a later date.
