Geraldine Welch's Obituary
Geraldine Welch, 79, of Moulton, passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at Golden Age Care Center in Centerville. Geraldine was born to Connie & Marie (Beard) Clinkenbeard on January 14, 1938 in Centerville. She received her education from Seymour Schools. Through Geraldine's life she worked as a cook, working at numerous restaurants and also owned her own place in Missouri for a period of time. Geraldine enjoyed baking, cooking, playing numerous instruments and singing. She has written over 200 songs over her life. One of the songs written by Geraldine was purchased by Johnny Cash in the early 70's. She also loved playing the accordion and piano. Of all things she enjoyed, her grandkids were number one on the list. Survivors include five sons: Dennis Welch of Moulton, Ronnie Welch (Susan) of Moulton, James Welch of Moulton, Randy Welch (Tracy) of Moulton and Paul Welch of Ft. Dodge; nine grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and a brother, Doyle Clinkenbeard of Unionville, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her father, Connie Clinkenbeard; mother, Marie Clinkenbeard and a brother, Billy George Clinkenbeard. A Celebration of Life will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 15, 2017 at the Crossline Center in Moulton. Interment will be held privately at Herman Cemetery near Chariton, Missouri.
