Geraldine "Geri" Almeda Poole Obituary's Obituary
Geraldine (Geri) Almeda Harlan Poole was born March 23, 1935 to Leora and Ethel Webb Harlan in Des Moines, Iowa. She passed away at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines on November 16, 2010 at the age of 75 years. Geri graduated from East High School in Des Moines, Iowa in 1954. She worked after high school and in 1957 she met Edwin Poole. In June 1957 they were united in marriage at the Capital hill Christian Church in Des Moines. To this union two children were born, Carole Sue and Kevin Duane. She and Edwin were married 53 years and spent 41 of those years in Wayne County north of Promise City and southwest of Promise City where they farmed and raised their family. Geri accepted Jesus Christ Lord and Savior at a young age of 22. She read her Bible daily and lived her life according to God's word. She shared her beliefs of the Bible to her children and grandchildren and encouraged them to do the same. She was predeceased by her parents, brothers Richard Mundy of Portland, Oregon and Virgil Harlan of Des Moines, Iowa and grandson Donnie Schultz Left to cherish her memory are her husband Edwin, daughter and son-in-law Carole Sue and Don Schultz of Promise City, son and daughter-in-law Kevin and Tammy Poole of Seymour, brother Ed Harlan of Des Moines and sister Dolores Bliss of Altoona. Other survivors include her grandchildren Nathan, Melissa and Stephanie Schultz, Matt Rose, Lacey (Poole) and Brandon Devore, Jace and Mashala Poole and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Everyone who knew her will sadly miss her. She always had a small for everyone who knew her.
