Aunt Geraldine will be greatly missed by those of us left here to mourn. She has been happily reunited with Ernie and will await in heaven for us. I will remember her as a certainly kind woman, yet always up for adventure and not afraid to speak her mind. A role model for the rest of the family. Her letters were always very newsy, as she kept busy with her garden, farm animals, and farm chores. As a child, it was a delight to visit Ernie and Geraldine. One special activity was fishing in the farm ponds. I was hesitant about catching the bait (grasshoppers), but my younger cousin, Eric, was more than happy to catch enough for everyone. After all, Geraldine said grasshoppers were the best bait to use, and they were! My parents celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2002, and Geraldine graciously offered to host the affair. It was a surprise; Mom and Dad suspected nothing. They still talk about how surprised and grateful they were for the celebration. Yes, it's time to say goodbye. Memories will sustain us 'til we meet again.
