Gerald E. Stickler's Obituary
Gerald E. Stickler, age 76, of Centerville, Iowa died Sunday evening, May 18, 2008 at his home.
Gerald was born May 31, 1931, the son of Jess Gerald and Nellie (Coates) Stickler in Mystic, Iowa. He graduated from Centerville High School. Gerald married Donelda ""Dot""Ford on June 3, 1983 in Appanoose County. He worked for Union Carbide, the Appanoose County Court House and farmed. Gerald enjoyed wood working, fishing, gardening, and mowing. He loved John Deere Tractors and drinking coffee with family and friends. He was a member of the Elk's Lodge in Centerville, Iowa.
Gerald is survived by his wife, three children, Gary (Edwina) Stickler of Numa, Iowa, Kim (Scott) Sebolt of Centerville, Iowa, and Julie (Ted) Clark of Numa, Iowa; four siblings, Ralph (Marilynn) Stickler of Centerville, Iowa, Dick (Beverly) Stickler of Centerville, Iowa, Mary (Merrill) Porter of Des Moines, Iowa, and Joanie (Don) DeGroot of Runnells, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Paula Stickler of Centerville, Iowa; grandchildren, Gary (Nikki) Stickler, Sammie (Tanner) Hendricks, T. J. Sebolt, Brooke Sebolt, Keenan McClure, Brady Clark, Levi Clark, and Beth (Jason) Burgin; and great grandchildren, Gradey W. Stickler, Brody Sharp, Jaylon Burgin, Trent Burgin, Katie Bratz, and Jessica Bratz. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Joe Stickler; and brother-in-laws, James Harvey and Robert Harvey.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM, Thursday, May 22, 2008 at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home, Centerville, Iowa with Pastor Terry Chapman officiating. Burial will follow with Military Rites at the Numa Cemetery, Numa, Iowa. A visitation will be starting at 9 AM Wednesday with family present from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to the Cline Family Dialysis Center and may be left at or mailed to the Thomas Lange Funeral Home, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa 52544.
