Georgia Eastin's Obituary
Georgia Eastin, age 82 of Mercer County, Missouri passed away on May 3, 2020 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. Georgia Louise Nickell was born on February 22, 1938 in Lucerne, Missouri to Karl Huff and Zona Lucille (Henry) Nickell. Georgia graduated from Mercer High School in 1955. Georgia was united in marriage to Larry Leroy Eastin on September 22, 1956 in Princeton, Missouri. They had four children, Alan, Kirby, Anita, and Curtis. Together they enjoyed playing cards with family and friends and dancing. Georgia lived most of her life in Mercer county. She and Larry spent the first few years of married life in Yuma, Arizona and then Bettendorf, Iowa before returning to farm in Mercer county. Georgia was an avid gardener most of her life. She was a wonderful cook and spent most of her adult life as a cook either in her own restaurant or for others. She owned and operated a restaurant, Hiway Caf, for many years in South Lineville. Georgia was preceded in death by her parents, husband Larry, father & mother-in-law, Arthur & Agnes Eastin, brothers-in-law; Ron Skellenger, Richard Kost, and Lyle Miller, niece Lorie McIntosh, and great-granddaughter Raegan Stark. She is survived by companion Fred Zillich, her children; Alan (Lorri) Eastin, Kirby Eastin, Anita Stevenson and Curtis Eastin, grandchildren; Cody Eastin, Laura (Nick) Saul, Kelsey Stevenson, Jessie (Jeff) Stark, and Kerye Eastin, nine great-grandchildren, sisters; Carolyn Kost, Linda Skellenger, and Beth (Phillip) McIntosh, brothers-in-law; Gary (Bonnie) Eastin and Dale (Suzanne) Eastin, sisters-in-law; Nevalea Miller and Nina Collis, and many nieces and nephews. A private family service and burial will take place at the Bethel United Methodist Church of Mercer County, Missouri. Memorials in Georgia's honor may be sent to Bethel United Methodist Church.
