George Winfield Warnick's Obituary
George Winfield Warnick, 78 of Centerville, passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2022 at Mercy One in Centerville, Iowa.
George was born to Willis and Georgetta (Hunt) Warnick on February 23, 1944 in Centerville, Iowa.
George worked at the Haydite Plant in Centerville for many years and after that went to work at the local recycling center. He loved to work on his farm taking care of his land and cattle and was always willing to help out the local farmers as well. He also helped at Walker Welding and Bratz Shell.
On his down time, he enjoyed hanging out with the Bratz Shell crew and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He would never leave a nickel behind.
George is survived by his son Daniel Warnick (Lacey) of Centerville, Iowa. Grandchildren: Mason, Laney and Sophie Warnick of Centerville, Iowa. Brothers: John Warnick of Mystic, Iowa, Ray Warnick of Des Moines, Iowa, Grant Warnick of Mystic, Iowa. Sister Noma Weidner of Rockford, Illinois. Stepchildren: Ryan Clark of Centerville, Iowa and Brandy VandeWalle of Rock Island, Illinois and numerous extended family and friends.
He was preceded by his parents Willis and Georgetta Warnick of Mystic, Iowa.
Services for George will be held at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at 10:00 AM. Visitation will be Monday, September 26, 2022 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Memorials in George's honor may be given to the Family of George Warnick or Highland Cemetery.
