George S. Ruggles' Obituary
George Ruggles, age 82, of Centerville, Iowa, died Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at his home in Centerville. He was born the son of Charles E. and Clemmie Opal (Garr) Ruggles on January 21, 1933 near Livonia, Missouri. He attended the Franklin Country Rural School near Livonia.On June 17, 1956, George was united in marriage to Patricia Owens in Cincinnati, Iowa. He worked for a time as a meat cutter in Des Moines, Iowa and later would work for Chicago-Northwestern Railroad in Maintenance also in Des Moines. He served his country during the Korean Conflict with the US Army.He was preceded in death by: his parents; grandsons, Jeremy Ruggles and Douglas Ray Propst; a brother, Robert Ruggles; and sisters, Mary Lou Ruggles and Bethene Veatch.George is survived by: his wife, Patricia Ruggles of Centerville, Iowa; sons, George Ruggles of Fort Dodge, Iowa, Roger Ruggles and his wife, Aimi of Ankeny, Iowa, Bruce Ruggles and his wife, Renae of Des Moines, Iowa, James Ruggles and his wife, Jessica of Osceola, Iowa, Phillip Ruggles of Carlisle, Iowa and Shane Ruggles and his wife, Susan of Carlisle, Iowa; a daughter, Teresa Morgan of Centerville, Iowa; brothers, Richard Ruggles of California and David Ruggles of Lancaster, Missouri; sisters, Audrey McClaskey of Winterset, Iowa and Zelpha Pruner of Lancaster, Missouri; twenty-three grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.Funeral services will be held at 2 pm, Sunday, April 12, 2015 at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Bruce Ruggles officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at the Exline Cemetery in Exline, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Sunday with the family present from 11 am until the time of services at the funeral home.
