Geni Marie McCarty's Obituary
Geneva Geni Marie McCarty, 46 of Humeston, passed away Saturday, September 17, 2022 at Wayne County Hospital.Geni was born to Bob and Linda McCarty on April 14, 1976 in Iowa City, Iowa. She received her education from Wayne Community Schools, graduating in 1995.
Geni worked in numerous positions over the years, but her passion was caring for people as a CNA.Geni enjoyed spending quality time with her children, collecting recipes, cooking, always having her nails done, spending time with friends, and in her younger more adventurous years, spending time out on the water boating.
Survivors include her children: Britni McCarty and Jake Ogden, mother, Linda McCarty, sister, Stephanie Jones, nephews, Tanner, Corbin, and Logan Jones, aunts and uncles: John and Jeralee McCarty, Donna Stevenson Hurd (Jim), grandpa, Charlie Yates and a special friend, Tom Walkup. She was also survived by numerous extended family. Geni was preceded in death by her father, Bob McCarty, grandparents: Ila Yates, Howard and Jean McCarty, numerous aunts and uncles and other extended family members.
A celebration of Geni's life will be 11:00 AM, Friday, September 23, 2022 at Thomas Funeral Home in Corydon. Interment will immediately follow at the Allerton Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, September 22, 2022 at Thomas Funeral Home in Corydon from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Memorials may be given to Susie B. Tuttle Dialysis Unit at Wayne County Hospital and condolences may be shared at www.thomasfh.com or facebook.com/thomasfuneralhome.
