Genevieve Adams, 81 of Centerville passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Genevieve was born to Eugene & Viva (Hurt) Ballard on August 16, 1930 in Centerville. She received her education from Centerville High School graduating in 1948. Genevieve attended Indian Hills Community College for a two years. Genevieve married Duane Adams on April 22, 1951 at the First United Methodist Church in Centerville. She was a member of Mary's Circle of Ministry, Women Aglow, After Five Prayer Group, Faith United Methodist Church and was a past member of First United Methodist Church. She also attended Brownsville Revival School of Ministry in Pensacola, Florida later in life. Genevieve was called to several missionary trips including, Argentina, Germany, Japan, Russia and Haiti. One of her fondest memories was visiting the Holy Land. Genevieve is survived by five children; James Adams of Centerville, Charles Adams(Denise) of Omaha, NE, Carl Adams(Tawnya) of Centerville, Bryan Adams(Lori) of Tecumseh, NE, Mary Adams of Centerville, seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren and a sister, Edna Bennett of Centerville. She was preceded in death by her husband Duane Adams, parents, five siblings; Paul Ballard, Juanita Pullen, Lester Ballard, Bonnie O'Donnell and Barbara Thomas. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Faith United Methodist Church. Visitation will be all day Friday with the family present from 6-8 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home. Interment will be in Concord Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Faith United Methodist Church or the Susan G.
