Gary Woollis' Obituary
Gary Woollis, 60, of Cambria passed away, Friday, January 6, 2017 at Legacy Lodge in Chariton. Gary was born to David & Florence (Sparks) Woollis on May 18, 1956 in Corydon, Iowa. He received his education from Wayne Community High School graduating in 1974. On March 8, 1975, Gary was united in marriage to Mary Powders at the Cambria Baptist Church. Gary spent the majority of his life farming, he also worked in Corydon at Midland Precast. Gary enjoyed his cattle, kids and grandkids, coyote hunting, visits with friends, and evening drive's with Mary on the country roads. He was a man of few words that had a huge heart, and loved his family more than anything. He believed in hard work and spent his life doing so. He took great pride in his kids' and grandkids' accomplishments. Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Mary Woollis of Cambria, three children; Jamie Petty (Rusty) of Cambria, Kenda Spencer (Rick) of Allerton, Jesse Woollis (Pam) of Derby, 11 grandchildren, Chase, Christy, Tori, Emily, Tyler, Taylor, Grayson, Blaine, Corbin, Khloe, Kinzie, father, David Woollis of Cambria and a brother, Greg Woollis and nephew Quinn Woollis also of Cambria. He was preceded in death by his mother, Florence Woollis. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Thomas Funeral Home in Corydon. Visitation will be one hour prior from 10-11 a.m. Interment will be in Cambria Cemetery at a later date.
