Garnet E. Talbot's Obituary
Garnet Talbot, age 95 of Centerville, Iowa passed away Sunday, April 07, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville.
Garnet was born April 26, 1917, in Roe, Arkansas, the son of Frank and Mary (Barrier) Talbot. He attended Centerville Schools and later married LaVara Hiner. Garnet was a past member of the Appanoose County Fairboard. He was a trucker for most of his life, working for Swift Co. and Safeway Trucking. He also farmed and raised quarter horses.
Garnet was preceded in death by his wife LaVara; son Larry Talbot; grandson Randy Brinegar; daughter Joyce; brothers John, Frank Jr., and Chuck.
He is survived by daughters Carol (Larry) Patterson of Florida and Diana Thomas of Colorado; son Roger (Kathy) Talbot of Kissee Mills, MO; daughter-in-law Betty Talbot; brother Gene Talbot of Centerville; grandchildren Rob Talbot of Centerville, Chris Talbot of Milo, Bryan Talbot of St. Louis, Jill Weis of Springfield, Cindy Adair of Colorado, Phillip Thomas of California, Stacy Matte of Colorado, Scott Talbot of Indianola, Tammy Eikens of Bloomfield; and 12 great grandchildren.
According to Garnet's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials have been established to either Appanoose Community Care Services or the Appanoose County Fair and may be given to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544.
