Garnet P. Deahl-Kozak's Obituary
Garnet P. Deahl-Kozak, age 88, of Centerville, Iowa, died Friday, November 23, 2007 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville. She was born the daughter of Wallace and Ruth (Lunsford) Kratzer on September 1, 1919 near Bloomfield, Iowa. She graduated from the Udell Community Schools in 1938.On February 12, 1939, Garnet was united in marriage to Keith Deahl in Moravia, Iowa, the couple were married over 42 years before Keith passed away. She would later be united in marriage to Edison 'Ed' Kozak on March 20, 1999 in West Des Moines, Iowa. She was a homemaker and a member of the Fairview Church of the Brethren south of Unionville, Iowa.She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Keith Deahl on May 3, 1981; daughter, Linda Stufflebeem; granddaughter, Kathy Jo Bain; step-grandson, Chris Kosman.Garnet is survived by: her husband, Ed Kozak of Centerville, Iowa; son, John Deahl and his wife, Karla of Unionville, Iowa; daughters, Sandra Bain of Moravia, Iowa and Judy Lunkley and her husband, Jim of Gold Canyon, Arizona; step-son, Wayne Kozak and his wife, Sally of Des Moines, Iowa; step-daughters, Jeanie Pontious and her husband, Bob of Centerville, Iowa, Deb Kozak-McDanel and her husband, Randy of Moravia, Iowa, Tena Haugdahl and her husband, Brad of St. Peter, Minnesota and Rita Marchand and her husband, Eugene of Colorado Springs, Colorado; sister, Joyce Landis of West Des Moines, Iowa; brother, Wendell Kratzer of West Des Moines, Iowa; nine grandchildren, ten step-grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren and sixteen step-great grandchildren.Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at 10 am at the Fairview Church of the Brethren south of Unionville, Iowa with Rev. Dr. Randy Ehrhardt officiating. Burial at the Fairview Cemetery will follow the services.
