Gail Stites' Obituary
Gail Stites, age 110 of Moulton, Iowa, died Saturday, December 26, 2009 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville, Iowa. She was born the daughter of Milo and Myrtle (Tissue) Foster on December 6, 1899 near Moravia, Iowa. She attended Brush Country School in Appanoose County.On October 25, 1924, Gail was united in marriage to Raymond Stites. She was a homemaker and attended Moulton Christian Church in Moulton. One of her favorite pastimes was quilting. She quilted many quilts for herself and her family.She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Raymond Stites; an infant son; a step-son, Ronald Stites; granddaughter, Jolene Curtis; sisters, Amy Wilson and May Main.Gail is survived by: son, Raymond 'Junior' Stites and his wife, Wilma of Charles City, Iowa; daughters, Mable Corder of Moulton, Iowa, Vivian Manning and her husband, Curtis of Ottumwa, Iowa, Jennie Lee Grimm and her husband, Gene of Selah, Washington; step-daughter, Norma Daughtrey of St. Cloud, Florida; sister, Josephine Lindley of Centerville,Iowa; fifteen grandchildren, thirty-seven great grandchildren and thirteen great, great grandchildren.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at 10 am at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Moulton, Iowa with her great grandson, Jason Corder and Rev. Reg Higginbottom officiating. Burial will follow at the Hilltown Cemetery south of Moulton, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 from 1 pm till 8 pm at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Moulton, Iowa with the family present form 6 pm till 8 pm.Memorials can be made to the Hilltown Cemetery and left or mailed to the funeral home.
