Gail Sue Bumgarner's Obituary
Gail Sue Bumgarner passed away April 3, 2025 at her home in Seymour, Iowa.
Gail was born to Richard and Georgia (Sines) Bumgarner on September 14, 1961. She graduated from Centerville High School with the class of 1979. After high school, life took her to California where she had two daughters, Spencer and Alexandra. After her time in California had run its course, Gail came back home to Iowa and landed in Seymour on Main Street- where no one could miss her.
And miss her you couldn't. Gail had a strong personality and did not, or could not, hide it. She refused to mince words and was always quick to share her opinion. Should you be engaged in a conversation with her you were locked in for a rollercoaster of a rant. She also loved to have fun and would not miss an opportunity to use her unique and unpredictable sense of humor to bring some light to someone's day.
Gail had a memory like a steel trap and could remember details from decades ago and provide context, should you be able to follow along with the story. In her last handful of years she put this ability to good use by researching local history and family genealogy, putting together visual collages she shared with others to keep the memories alive.
Gail is survived by her daughters Spencer (Scott) Starr, and Alexandra Finks; granddaughter Clara Starr; grand dog Ember; brother Richard Bumgarner; sister Lisa Massey; niece Amanda Massey; nephew Collin Massey; and longtime companion Anthony Budiscelich.
She is preceded into death by her parents, brother David Bumgarner and the many pets she had through her years.
In lieu of memorials or flowers the family asks you to wear something sparkly in Gail's honor. Put on your body glitter, your ruby red slippers and sprinkle some sparkles along as you go.
Cremation has been accorded. Condolences may be shared online at www.thomasfh.com or www.facebook.com/thomasfuneralhome.
