Freddie 'Fred' Lawrence DuVall's Obituary
Freddie Lawrence DuVall, age 87, of Moravia, Iowa passed away Saturday, January 9, 2021 at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
He was born January 26, 1933 in Moravia, Iowa, the son of Warren and Georgia 'Lois' (Graham) DuVall. Fred was united in marriage to Loretta Jean Helmick at Virginia McDonoughs home in 1956 and to this union of marriage a daughter was born, Sheila.
Fred was a farmer throughout his lifetime, which included shearing sheep. He loved any kind of hunting, especially coyote and coon. In his later years, Fred enjoyed picking wild flower seeds around his farm. Most importantly, he cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren, and all the friends and family who visited the farm.
Left to honor Freds memory include his wife, Loretta Helmick DuVall of Moravia, Iowa; his daughter, Sheila (Douglas) Clemens of Moravia, Iowa; five grandchildren, Lydia Lewis (Fianc, Steve Daniels), Cody Clayworth (Friend, Leslie Hill), Casey (Jon) Morlan, Tasha (Ben) Whye, and Kristy Clemens; twelve great grandchildren, Jazmine Lewis, Ava Martin, Trenton Clayworth, Blane Clayworth, Bentley Clayworth, Macon Morlan, Mesa Morlan, Elissa Whye, Rebeckah Whye, Mikeal Whye, Alayna Sinko, and Gavin McDuffy; three siblings, Bill (Dianna) DuVall, Mary (Bill) Benz, and Jo (Max) McAninch; also survived by many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Lois DuVall; along with siblings, Ruth Gibbons, Virginia and Max McDonough, Nellie and Shorty Eaves; and two half-brothers, Lowell and Mansell; as well as a son-in-law, John Clayworth.
Private family services will take place at Lange Funeral Home in Moravia. The public committal service for Fred DuVall will take place at approximately 11:15 AM, Monday, January 18, 2021 at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Moravia. A memorial has been established to the Moravia First Responders and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544.
