Freda I. Teater's Obituary
Freda I. Teater, age 79, of Centerville, Iowa, died Saturday, April 18, 2015, at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville. She was born the daughter of Harold 'Junior' and Ruth (Heartly) Jones on January 22, 1936 in Bloomfield, Iowa. She graduated from the Moulton High School in Moulton, Iowa in 1953.After graduation, Freda took a job at Safeway in Centerville and on August 18, 1955 was united in marriage to Howard 'Ray' Teater in Centerville, Iowa. She began working at McGraw-Edison when it opened and was still working there when the factory closed. She then became a Housekeeper for Centerville Care Center in Centerville. She also enjoyed working along side her husband Ray on the farm in rural Moulton, Iowa. She attended the Church of the Nazarene in Centerville.Freda was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Ray Teater on November 13, 2001; and a sister, Iris Whitlow.She is survived by: her son, Ayron Teater and his wife, Rita of Unionville, Iowa; daughters, Shawna Teater and Shayla Teater both of Centerville, Iowa; grandson, Eric Teater and his wife, Crystal of Unionville, Iowa; one great grandson, Braydin Shaffer also of Unionville, Iowa; and one brother, Robert Jones of Grinnell, IowaFuneral services will be held at 1 pm, Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Rev. Walter King officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Ararat Cemetery east of Centerville. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 from 2 pm until 8 pm at the funeral home with the family present from 6 pm until 8 pm.
