Fred Edward "Eddie" Squires' Obituary
Fred Edward 'Eddie' Squires, age 57, of Centerville, Iowa, died Sunday, May 4, 2008, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. He was born the son of Edward 'Freeman' and Wanda Patricia (Nichols) Squires on March 21, 1951 in Centerville, Iowa. He graduated from Centerville Community Schools in 1969 and went on to attend Indian Hills Community College for two years and later attended Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri. He would earn his Bachelor's Degree in education. On June 7, 1975, Fred was united in marriage to Nadine Faber in Moravia, Iowa. He owned Trinkets to Treasures in Centerville, Iowa for several years. Eddie enjoyed spending time fishing with his brother Dan, and playing with his dog Buddy. He was very proud of his many nieces and nephews; Damon, Sydnee, Bradly, Seth, Ashlynn, and Steven, and enjoyed every minute that he could spend with them. He is preceded in death by: his father, Edward Squires on May 15, 1994; wife, Nadine (Faber) Squires in June of 1994; and two infant daughters Hope and Faith Squires.Fred is survived by: his mother, Wanda Squires of Centerville, Iowa; brothers, Mick Smith of Palermo, Maine and Daniel Squires of Centerville, Iowa; and sister Vicki and her husband Mike Hoffman of Centerville, Iowa; three nephews, Scott and his wife Becky Squires, Zachary Squires, and Damon Hoffman; and 2 nieces, Amanda and her husband Josh Watts, and Chara and her husband Mark Porter. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2008 at 11:00 AM at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Rev. Gerald Campbell officiating. Burial will follow at the Hillcrest cemetery in Moravia, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 from 1:00 PM till 8:00 PM at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa.Memorials can be made to the family and may be left at the funeral home.
