Fred Padavich's Obituary
Fred Padavich, age 92 of Centerville, died Friday, January 5, 2007 at Mercy Medical Center, Centerville, Iowa.
Fred was born June 23, 1914 in Streepyville, Iowa, the son of George and Delka (Stimac) Padavich. He married Lena Furlin October 11, 1946 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Centerville. Fred worked in the coal mines in Appanoose County, which included several different mines: Sterling, 30, Sunshine 2 and 3, Purdy, Clark, and Roger. He also built homes for Royal Simmons. Fred was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Centerville.
Fred is survived by his wife Lena of Centerville, Iowa; a daughter Nancy Peterson and her husband Merrill of Lincoln, Nebraska, two sons, Ron Padavich and his wife Sherry of Cedar Falls, Iowa, and son Richard Padavich of Centerville; three grandchildren, Rachelle (Cory) Pelton of Davenport, Iowa, Rebecca (Ryan) Meyerkorth of Rockport, Missouri, and Kelly (Brant) Allen of Atlanta, Georgia; a sister Josephine Blozavich of Tampa, Florida. Fred was preceded in death his parents, two sisters, Mary Bellegante and Della Padavich, and a brother Albert Padavich. Private funeral services will be held at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home. An open visitation for friends and family will be held Sunday, January 7, 2007 at the funeral home from 12-8 PM. A memorial has been established to St. Mary's Catholic Church and may be left at or mailed to the Thomas Lange Funeral Home, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, IA 52544.
