Fred Garrison's Obituary
Fred Garrison, age 92, of Centerville, Iowa, died Thursday, June 29, 2006, at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville. He was born the son of Charles and Alda (Peel) Garrison on May 15, 1914 in Centerville. He attended Centerville Community Schools.On March 11, 1942, Fred was united in marriage to Ethel P. Denniston in Unionville, Missouri. He served his country during WWII in the US Army from September 22, 1942 until his honorable discharge on November 3, 1945. He worked for many years at the Levine Company in Centerville as a truck driver. Fred was a member of the VFW and First Baptist Church both in Centerville as well as the '55 and Up' group at church.He was preceded in death by: his parents; wife, Ethel Garrison on February 20, 1999; son, Ronnie Garrison; daughter, Kathy Ann Garrison and brothers, Ted and Buck Garrison.Fred is survived by: his daughters, Linda Thomas and her husband, Garold of Guthrie Center, Iowa and Renee White and her husband, David of Centerville, Iowa; sister, Alta Cochran of Marshalltown, Iowa; Eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 3, 2006 at 10 AM at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with Pastor Lloyd Johnston officiating. Burial with full military honors by Centerville area Veteran will be held at the Mt. Ararat Cemetery following the service. Public visitation will be held on Sunday, July 2, 2006 from 1 pm till 8 pm at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville.Memorial can be made to the Mt.
