Franklin Eugene Ballanger's Obituary
Franklin Eugene Ballanger, age 84, of Centerville, entered eternal life on Sunday, December 10, 2023 at Centerville Specialty Care.
Frank was born on November 25, 1939, the son of Otis and Stella (Henderson) Ballanger. He graduated from Moravia High School with the Class of 1958. On August 27, 1960, Frank married the love of his life, Patricia "Patty" Ann Zaputil at the Catholic Church in Mystic, Iowa. To this union, five children were born: Doug, Marcia, Todd, Angela & Eric.
Frank was a farmer, who raised Black Angus cattle for most of his life. His kids have fond memories of helping him move the cattle. Subsequently, he was also a machinist at Young Radiator in Centerville. He started at Young Radiator the first day the plant opened, never missing a day of work in 25 years, and continued working there until the company closed its doors. In his free time, he loved coon and coyote hunting, going to cattle sales, and spending time with his family. He was very fond of getting together with his brothers, reminiscing about old times and playing jokes on each other.
Left to honor Frank's memory are his children, Doug (Marsha) Ballanger, Marcia (Mark) Bratz, Todd (Kris) Ballanger, Angela (Shawn) Sanderlin & Eric (Breanna) Ballanger; his grandchildren, Jenni (Jason) Bratz-Kurzer, Brandon (Lynsey) Bratz, Jacob Ballanger & Jared Ballanger, Courtney Ballanger, Maxx Ballanger & Tucker Ballanger; bonus grandchildren, Mark Isaac Mosley, Matthew Mosley, Melia (Jeremy) Chapman, Marcie (Matthew) Harryman; great-grandchildren, Kaden, Theo & Dash Ballanger, Leighton Kurzer, and Ronnie Dean; bonus great-grandchildren, Dalton (Ashley), Kade, Jax, & Reese Mosley, Hunter, Case & Hattie Chapman, Vincent Sheston, and Boaz and Ivalee Harryman; bonus great-great-grandchildren, Haisley and Luca Mosley; his brother, Clarence (Judy) Ballanger; and his sister-in-law, Joann Ballanger; as well as several extended family members.
