Frank Bird's Obituary
Frank Bird, 84, of Moulton passed away Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Frank was born in Hoopeston, Illinois on March 16, 1932 to Ralph & Marie Bird. He received his education from Rossville High School in 1950. After high school, Frank enlisted with the United States Navy. After serving in the Navy, Frank took a job with the railroad as a track supervisor. Working on the railroad brought him to Moulton and he would later call it home. After moving to Moulton, Frank worked as a handyman and also worked until retirement at Wells Mfg. In his spare time, Frank enjoyed woodworking. Survivors include his wife Lucille Bird of Moulton and her children and grandchildren, three children: Alan Bird of Mississippi, John & Michael Bird of Florida, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, brother; Willis Bird (Annabelle) of Hoopeston, Illinois, two nieces, Connie Mortonson of Green Bay, Wisconsin, Cathy Hagen of Gibson City, Illinois and a nephew, Jerry Lee Bird of Fairmont, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents, great granddaughter, Kinley Bird, nephew, Gary Bird, niece, Karen Bird and a great nephew, Jeremy Paul Bird. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at Thomas Funeral Home in Moulton. Interment with full Military Honors will follow at Sunset View Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-7 p.m., Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at Thomas Funeral Home with the family present from 5-7 p.m. Memorials may be given to Cline Family Dialysis Center and condolences may be shared at www.thomasfh.com.
