Francine Ann Stickler's Obituary
Francine Ann Stickler, age 72, of Centerville, passed away Friday, December 4, 2020 at MercyOne Medical Center in Centerville.
Francine was born on February 23, 1948 in Libertyville, Illinois, the daughter of George and Rosemary (Winkler) Brozovich. She graduated from Moravia High School. On December 2, 1967, Francine was united in marriage to Dennis Ray Stickler Sr. at St. Marys Catholic Church in Centerville, and to this union, four children were born, Dennis Jr., Steven, Trinita, and Mindi.
Francine worked at Gambles on the Centerville square after high school, until they closed. She then worked at Joes Quick Shop for a period of time. Francine was employed with Golden Age Care Center for many years, and also enjoyed working at Caseys for several years.
Francine had an affectionate personality, and always had a smile on her face, which attracted many people. She was always willing to help anyone in need. Francine also had many loves in her life. Some of them include, lottery tickets, trips to the casino with her sister and friends, garage sales, church, family and friends, and most importantly, her children and grandchildren.
Left to cherish Francines memory are her children, Dennis (Stephanie) Stickler Jr., of Oskaloosa, Iowa, Steven (Fianc Stacy) Stickler of Centerville, Iowa, Trinita (Chad) Shewry of Ottumwa, Iowa, and Mindi (Mason) Blizek of Promise City, Iowa; nine grandchildren, Harley Stickler, Michaela McCarl, Katie Shewry, Evan Shewry, Logan Shewry, Ben Blizek, Alex Blizek, Elizabeth Blizek, and Briella Blizek; three siblings, Irene (Alan) Strickler of Urbandale, Iowa, Jeff (Diane) Brozovich of Townsend, Montana, and Tony (Karin) Brozovich of Mystic, Iowa; a sister in law, Sharon Walter of Centerville; a brother in law, Rick (Shelly) Stickler of LaPorte City, Iowa; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whom will all miss her dearly.
Francine was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis R. Stickler, Sr.; her parents, George and Rosemary Brozovich; and a brother, George Brozovich Jr.
Due to Covid-19 guidelines, a private family Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Marys Catholic Church in Centerville with Father Timothy Armbruster officiating. Burial will take place at Elgin Cemetery in Mystic following the service. A public Visitation will take place on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Lange Funeral Home in Centerville, with the family greeting friends from 5-7PM. The Rosary service will be held at 4:45PM on Wednesday at the funeral home. Masks are required to enter the facilities for the services.
