Frances E. Gatrel's Obituary
Frances Gatrel, age 94 of Numa died Monday, February 13, 2006 at Mercy Medical Center, Centerville.
Frances was born December 31, 1911 the daughter of John and Lily (Abbot) Byers in Speed, Indiana. She married Henry Gatrel on February 24, 1928 in Corydon, Iowa. He preceded her in death on October 4, 1992. Frances belonged to numerous organizations throughout her lifetime, including Our Friendly Neighbor's Club and the Ladies' Group. She was also a member of the Numa Christian Church.
Frances is survived by her three sons, Robert (Patricia) Gatrel of Centerville, Iowa, Ronald (Judy) Gatrel of Evansdale, Arizona, and Gary Gatrel of Numa, Iowa; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one great great grandchild and a half sister Ruth Medlock of Jeffersonville, Indiana. Frances was preceded in death by her parents; a brother Lon Byers; and two half sisters, Helen Medlock and Katherine Nichols.
Funeral services will be held 11AM Thursday, February 16, 2006 at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home with Pastor Kay Singley officiating. Burial will follow in the Numa Cemetery. Friends may call the funeral home all day Wednesday. A memorial has been established to the Golden Age Care Center and may be left at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home, 1900 S.18th Street, Centerville, Iowa, 52544.
