Frances Marie Daugherty's Obituary
Frances Marie Daugherty, age 86, of Seymour passed away Sunday, March 10, 2024 at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines.
Marie was born on October 10, 1937 in Centerville, Iowa, the daughter of Edward and Myrtle (Cline) Seeley. She graduated from Centerville High School.
Marie enjoyed going to church, sewing, yard work, pottery, ceramics, and running a skid loader. She was an amazing seamstress, who also worked on upholstery and quilting often. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
Left to cherish Marie's memory are her husband, Harry Daugherty; her children, Debra Tarbell, Greg (Beth) Hawk, and step-daughter, Joanna Marie (Andy) Bristow; nine grandchildren, Shad (Angie) Oehler, Krista (Tim) Johnson, Travis (Amber) Hawk, Derek (Andrea) Hawk, April (Oscar) Hawk-Vera, Whitney (Jon) Hawk-Mueller, Austin Brown, Hannah Martin, and Joshua Martin; 16 great grandchildren; two step-grandchildren, Jessica McDaniel and Jeremy McDaniel; four great-great grandchildren; her sister, Joyce Hart; her brother, Ed (Laretta) Seeley; her sister-in-law, Sally Seeley; as well as numerous extended family and friends.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Myrtle Seeley; her son, Rodney Hawk; her step-daughter, Joyce Daugherty; her sister, Marilyn Shepard; her brother, Bob Seeley; and her brothers-in-law, Dean Shepard and Vernon Hart.
Per wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held at 10:00AM, Thursday, March 14, 2024 at the First Baptist Church in Seymour with Pastor Micaiah Stanley officiating. Visitation will take place Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at the Seymour Baptist Church, with the family greeting friends from 5:00-7:00PM.
A second memorial service will be held at 10:30AM, on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at the Assembly of God Church in Centerville with Pastor Brad Dittmer officiating. A luncheon will follow the service.
