Floyd L. Miskimins' Obituary
Floyd Miskimins, age 70, of Centerville, Iowa, died Thursday, July 21, 2016 at his home in Centerville. He was born the son of Roy and Mary Louis (McClain) Mullikin on November 20, 1945 in Corydon, Iowa, After his mother's early death, he was adopted by Close and Juanita Miskimins in 1952. He was blessed to have a loving home. He graduated from the Seymour High School in 1964 and would go on to serve his country in the United States Army from September of 1967 until his honorable discharge in October of 1968.He worked with his 'Pop' in the hog yards until they were sold. That's the time Floyd enter the car business which would last over 30 years. Miskimins's Auto is where he sold high quality pre-owned vehicles and always honoring his word in Centerville until June of this year, when he closed his dealership. He was united in marriage to Joyce 'Jodi' Struble on January 25, 1996 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Floyd was a loyal friend to many and will be greatly missed.He was preceded in death by: his mother, Mary Louis Mullikin in 1951; his adoptive parents, Close and Juanita Miskimins; his brothers, Jack Turpen in 2007 and James 'Jake' Miskimins in 2008.Floyd is survived by: his wife, Jodi Miskimins of Centerville, Iowa; sons, Rodney Miskimins of Centerville, Iowa and Tod (Darlene) Johnson of Norfolk, Nebraska; daughter, Traci Fields of Purdin, Missouri; sister, Sharon Sebolt-Vogel of Summerfield, Florida; grandchildren, Brittany Miskimins, Jake Oder, Cole Hullinger, Maci Hullinger and Garrett Hullinger; one great grandchild; and two aunts, Grace McClain and Dickie Bartlett.Graveside services will be held at 11 am, Saturday, July 30, 2016 at the Southlawn Cemetery in Seymour, Iowa with Carol Iammateo-Code officiating. Burial will follow in the cemetery. There is no visitation planned at this time, however, the family will be having a gathering at the Eagle's Club in Centerville following the services at the cemetery.
