Floy Little's Obituary
Floy Marie Little, 92, of Corydon, Iowa passed away on January 11, 2021 at her home. Floy Marie Little, the daughter of Wesley and Bessie (Acheson) Bryan, was born on December 31, 1928 in Decatur County, Iowa. Floy was united in marriage to William Monroe Little on February 13, 1946.They moved to Galesburg, Illinois for Bill to work for the Railroad and then later returned to rural Wayne County to farm. Bill and Floy had ten children; Bill, Betty, Becky, Bob, Roger, Ronnie, Bonnie, Brenda, Teddy and Eddy. Floy was a farm wife, whose daily chores included milking cows, tending to the livestock, tending to the children with many other daily obstacles. Floy had a full and complete life with many ups and downs which she always pushed through. Her mother Bessie had passed away when she was 13 years old, so Floy knew how to get through the hard times, but she also had many good times with her family and friends. After her kids were grown and left the farm she continued working on the farm and watching her grandkids. They kept her on her toes between getting in the hay barn or heading to the pond which both usually got them into trouble! Numerous times they were threatened with the cow whip, but it done the job, they behaved after that! After the passing of her husband Bill, she moved to town where she enjoyed cooking at the senior meal site, assisting at the American Legion and sitting on her front porch swing during the summer. Floy was not a cold weather fan! Snow was a bad word around her that would result in a dirty look; she said she had enough of it on the farm. Floy loved to hold the little ones and rock them to sleep usually humming a Dolly Parton song "Rockin' Years". Floy loved country music, if you ever visited her at home her radio was always on! She also enjoyed playing cards; crazy 8's was her favorite and this usually brought out her competitive side. She is survived by her children: Bill Little (Susan), Becky Hook (Dave), Bob Little (Mary Ann), Bonnie McMurry (Craig), and Brenda Kelly (Pat), son-in-law Richard Duncan, daughter-in-law Janet Little, seventeen grandchildren, thirty five great grandchildren, nine great-great grandchildren, brother Wesley Bryan and numerous extended family members. She is preceded in death by her parents Wesley and Bessie Bryan, husband Bill Little, daughter Betty Duncan, son Roger Little, infant sons; Ronnie, Teddy and Eddy Little, grandsons: Bret McMurry and Brian Little, and sister Fern Bryan.
