Floriene Mace's Obituary
Floriene Mace (Cobb) of Allerton, Iowa, passed away at the age of 102 on Monday, January 29, 2024 at Pella Regional Medical Center surrounded by family.
Floriene was born on November 25, 1921 to Rola and Hazel (Bouy) Cobb in Wayne County, Iowa. She received her education from Sewal High School graduating in 1939. She married Marvin Wayne Mace on May 21, 1939 and they welcomed four children; Audrey, Carrol, Carmen and Dale.
Floriene and Marvin had a farm near Allerton, Iowa where they raised their family. They eventually upgraded it to a grade A dairy farm after Marvin retired.
Floriene loved to crochet, do puzzle books and watch basketball games. She really enjoyed playing cards with family and friends. She was also known for being a wonderful cook and loved to cook for her family.
Floriene was a very sweet, quiet and loving person. She will be deeply missed.
Survivors include her children; Carrol (Jan) Mace, Carmen (Bill) Anderson, Dale (Sharon) Mace, son-in-law Donnie Lucas, sister; Doris Liggett, 13 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Marvin Mace, daughter, Audrey Lucas, sisters; Celia (Everette) Selby, Jeanette (Carroll) Aistrope, brother-in-law, Speck Liggett and other extended family.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on February 3, 2024 at Thomas Funeral Home in Corydon. Interment will immediately follow at Shriver Cemetery. Visitation will be an hour prior to the service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
