Everett J. Shaw's Obituary
Everett J. Shaw, 86 of Venice, Florida and a former resident of Moline, Illinois and Centerville, Iowa, died March 21, 2006 at Sunset Lake Health & Rehab Center in Venice. He was born on February 16, 1920 in Centerville to Everett A. and Ruth (Scritchfield) Shaw. He graduated from the Centerville Community Schools in 1938.Everett was united in marriage to Neota Davis in Canton, Missouri and later was united in marriage to Bernice Sutterman on November 24, 1980 in Galveston, Texas. He served his country during WWII with the US Army from August 12, 1944 until his honorable discharge on July 1, 1946. Everett worked as a painter and formerly had been a business representative of Painters Local Union #502 and secretary of District Council #11, retiring in 1979. He was preceded in death by: his parents; sister, June Woods; daughters, Catherine and Linda Shaw; son Robert ShawSurvivors include: his wife, Bernice Shaw of Venice, Florida; daughter, Karen Stotz and her husband, Dean of Bettendorf, Iowa; three grandchildren, Michael Jones and his wife, Denise of Morton, Illinois, Curtis Todd Jones of Houston, Texas and Laura and her husband, Brent Miller of Columbus, Ohio; step-daughter, Judith Sargent of Sarasota, Florida; step-grandson, Matthew Sargent of Odessa, Florida; and three great grandchildren, Jennifer and Kyle Jones and Eric Miller.Graveside Military services will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2006 at 1 pm at the Oakland Cemetery with Rev.
